These BTC courses provide NGB accreditation for Taekwondo instructors who meet the eligibility criteria and have the approval of their organisation or club to teach in BTC registered clubs.

The BTC Online Registered Instructor Course covers BTC Policies and Procedures which support the safe facilitation of Taekwondo in the UK:

  • DBS/PVG Scheme/AccessNI Enhanced Disclosure Application
  • Code of Conduct and Ethics
  • Equity
  • Social Media and Communications
  • Health And Safety (inc Risk Assessment)
  • Insurance

BTC Safeguarding Awareness Courses:

  • Protecting Children in Sport
  • Protecting Adults in Sport

A First Aid qualification is an element of BTC Registered Instructor accreditation.  If an instructor does not have a current first aid certificate, they should arrange to undertake a course at the earliest opportunity and provide a copy of their certificate to the BTC Course Tutor to update their BTC profile.

BTC Professional Indemnity Insurance is administered separately to this course via BTC Member Organisations.

Identification:  BTC Registered Instructor lists should display recent head & shoulders TKD photographs of instructors.

BTC have implemented a new process for enrolment onto the Registered Instructor and Basic Safeguarding Awareness courses.  To register for a place, eligible members should use the payment link provided.  Applications will close one week before the course date to accommodate the administration processes.

BTC Administration will respond with an email and the relevant vetting and barring organisation registration forms:

  • Instructors In England, Wales, Northern Ireland, IOM and Channel Islands will receive an email from BTC to initiate the uCheck process to complete online digital ID verification and Enhanced DBS checks.
  • Instructors in Scotland will receive a BTC PVG Scheme form.
  • Instructors in Northern Ireland will receive information of the AccessNI process.

When instructors have completed their ID verification and DBS/PVG Scheme/AccessNI registration, BTC will share the Zoom log-in code and authorised BTC Tutor details.
