With over 150 competitors, 15 clubs, three rings and the STOMP title up for grabs, the scene was set for once again an exciting day of friendly competition. With the seating filling with eager supporters and the umpires all allocated to their rings, we were ready to rumble!

Up first onto the mats were our youngest students of the day. After a warm welcome and recital of the oath, it was time to perform patterns. Aged 4-7yrs, it was inspiring to watch as our Generation-X stepped up as ambassadors for Taekwon-Do and their clubs, performing strong and skilful patterns, far surpassing their years.

Patterns finished, it was time to pad up and prepare for sparring. In busy divisions, there was no easy route to the top spot, with all students fighting hard with confidence and determination.

The morning finished with our junior black belts taking to the floor. With Our Generation-X watching on, this was a fantastic opportunity for the youngsters to watch our up and coming champions battle it out for the gold. Whether win, lose or draw each decision was taken with grace and humility, once again showing how great a role model our juniors are fast becoming to our Generation-X students.

After a short lunch break, it was time to restart the event with our colour belt cadets. As always, the patterns were performed to a high standard and were a true pleasure to watch. As we progressed from white belts through the grades it was encouraging to see their competition experience shining through, shedding light on the importance and positive impact these local events have on the development of our junior competitors.

Once patterns had finished, students were instructed to pad up, warm up and set themselves for sparring. With eager spectators and team members encouraging from the side lines everyone was excited to watch as the competitors stepped onto the ring. As with previous STOMP Championships strong performances were put in by all, with each student showing the heart and determination of a true Taekwon-Do practitioner.

We would like to thank and congratulation all competitors, coaches and spectators that attended the event as well as the regional umpires that worked tirelessly throughout the day to ensure the event was run both smoothly and professionally. We look forward to seeing you all at the next big event!!!
