Cardiff Martial Arts at Zumba-thon
View all articles

Throughout 2014, the members of Cardiff Martial Arts will be raising money for a charity called Touch Trust (www.touchtrust.co.uk)

This group provides unique creative movement programmes for individuals with learning disabilities; those affected by autistic spectrum disorder (ASD); those with complex needs and behaviour which challenges, and other vulnerable groups in the community.

The first two fundraising events this year have been Zumba dance-athons, organised by Samar Wafa, whose whole family trains with Mr McCabe in Taekwon-do.

The first event was for children, where over £1000 was raised for Touch Trust! The second event was for the adults, where we danced through the decades to all the classic tunes that we all secretly love! Nearly £3000 was raised by this event, with contributions from the Taekwon-do community as well as many other dance groups in the Cardiff area.

Towards the end of the day, Samar and Mr McCabe surprised everyone with a special workout to Gangnam Style: youtu.be/b2-3U1do_EE

There will be more events later in the year as we continue to support Touch Trust with their fantastic work.
