On the 29th January the competitors, spectators , Mr R and myself all arrived at Stanstead airport in plenty of time for our flight to Cagliari in Sardinia in anticipation of another enjoyable competition.  After a good flight  we landed and were met by our coach driver who took us to the hotel where we were met by Miss Farigu and the check in started.

The competitors could weigh in straight away which was a blessing and after Sam had displayed his taste in boxers ( see face book site for details but beware its not for those of a delicate disposition!!) , we all retired to our rooms ready for our meal that night and the competition in the morning.

Sunday morning the whole UKITF team were breakfasting together and then the coach arrived to take us to the venue. It was another hugely successful day for our region and for the whole team.

For our newbies on the international circuit : Zara Worton came away with a bronze for sparring, Robyn Hough with  silver for patterns and sparring and Adam Everett also took silver for sparring and patterns.

Our more seasoned competitors! Sam Richards won a silver for sparring and bronze for patterns, Jamie Martin met one of our own competitors in patterns and just lost out on a medal but valiantly fought his way to gold for sparring, Kim James fought well to ensure a silver in sparring and Lee Webb took an individual bronze for sparring and team gold for sparring . Simon Richards and Jake Thomas both performed really well but just missed out on medals but gained much valuable experience.

Once again we owe a huge thank you to the parents and spectators for their support and of course Karen Hough with her Italian phrase book !! The competitors for their hard work  , Mr R for his dedication and determination through what has been a very difficult few months for him, and to Ashley for organising the whole trip for us, it was a fantastic weekend for us all and WELL DONE to all of you.
