Region 1 at the UK ITF National Championships
With blood, sweat and tears left in the Dojang, Region 1
competitors were once again set to compete in their next challenge…The UKITF
National Championships 2016. This was a great opportunity for our degree competitors
to earn points and take an early lead in the seeding process for the ITF World
Championships 2016. For our junior grades, this was not only a great
opportunity to gain valuable experience but also a chance to showcase all their
hard work and dedication leading up to the event.
With over 60 competitors from the Region and 15 registered
Umpires, this was once again another demonstration of the strength within the Region
and professional manner which we seek to deliver.
Against tough competition from within the UKITF and overseas
competitors from Redking TKD Academy, Mallorca ITF, ITF Spain, ITF Royal Dutch,
German ITF, Irish ITF and Italy, we were all focused with our hearts set on
taking the gold. With our Cadet Squad setting a VERY HIGH benchmark in the
morning, it was then the turn of our black belts to follow in similar fashion
and stamp their authority on the competition…..which they did in spectacular
fashion.
With the next National event taking place on the 27th
February, we will once again be fitter and stronger as we approach the build up
to the much anticipated World Championships. We would once against like to
thank all the Instructors and clubs within the region; Brentford TKD, Trenic
TKD Academies, Hollingsworth TKD and Legends TKD for their support at the
event. Now let’s look forward to our next Regional STOMP competition on the 14th
November where our youngest competitors will be embarking on their competitive
career in tough yet fun event!!
