Imperial Taekwon-Do Association

Taekwon-Do originated from Korea and is the fastest growing Martial Art in History. Mostly due to the founders inspiration and indomitable spirit Taekwon-Do is now practiced in all corners of the world. Imperial is the first group within the UK to offer both branches of Taekwon-Do (ITF and WTF).

International Taekwon-Do Federation the Traditional Martial Art as developed by the founder "General Choi Hong Hi" and now under the guidance of his son "Master Choi Jung Hwa".

World Taekwondo Federation is the governing body for the sport of Taekwondo and is a member of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations [ASOIF]. The WTF recognizes national Taekwondo governing bodies recognized by the NOC in the pertinent country, within the UK that is the BTCB a member of the British Taekwon-Do Council.

Imperial Taekwon-Do Association ITF

The Imperial TaeKwon-Do Association (I.T.A.) is committed to the promotion and advancement of the unadulterated Taekwon-Do of General Choi Hong Hi IXth Dan (Founder). At the head of the I.T.A. is Master Trevor Nicholls 8th Dan, a genuine I.T.F. Master with over 35 years 'hands-on' experience and one of the most senior I.T.F. officials in England.

On the first of January 1983, Master Trevor Nicholls, (At the time fourth Degree Black Belt) Founded the Nicholls TaeKwon-Do Institute, established in England as the Imperial TaeKwon-Do Association. In 1983 founded the Irish School of TaeKwon-Do, headed by Mr. Thomas Carthy Third Degree Black Belt, and in 1985, the Israeli School of TaeKwon-Do, headed by Mr. Danny Roth Third Degree Black Belt. Master Nicholls already an Instructor of high repute within the U.K.T.A. the British Association for the International TaeKwon-Do Federation (I.T.F.), Master Nicholls, because of the negative side to politics ever present within the U.K.T.A., and the complexities of bureaucracy and its inevitable financial implications and antagonism among Instructors, decided to sacrifice his own material needs and not pursue his own career within the field of accountancy in order to dedicate and devote himself entirely to the N.T.I. At this time there was only one School being Rayners Lane of approximately 50 students. Currently there is a Membership of approximately 2000 students including the Schools from Ireland and Israel.

Imperial Taekwon-Do Association WTF

Our WTF arm is headed by Senior Instructor Master Raster Rai. A former member of the elite Gurkha Fighting regiment based in the UK. Aligned with the BTCB within our members have access to all sporting events including the Olympic Games.

Primarily our student base came from this elite unit, actively serving the UK. Over the past several years clubs have grown and now incorporate the general public as well as the enlisted.

The Sagarmatha Tae Kwon-Do Dojang (STKDD) was founded by Master Rastra Rai 4th Degree Black Belt WTF in 2002 and was affiliated to the Imperial Taekwon-Do Association, recognised and registered by the British Taekwondo Council (BTC) and UK Sports Council in the same year.

The Sagarmatha Taekwondo Dojang religiously follows the ethics, discipline, philosophy and training of the true Taekwondo. We have branches in Folkestone, Catterick, Chatham, Maidstone, Camberley and Farnborough.

Martial arts simply put, is the way of life. It teaches us to respect humanity and our foe alike, it disciplines our ethical conduct towards society, toughens our mind and body through rigorous training. These are the only few basic concepts of the martial arts. There are vast knowledge to be gain through the discipline of martial arts.
