Stoke Gifford TKD at the Imperial Scottish Championships

  On Saturday 27th March 2010 11 competitors along with their supporters set off on an 8 hour coach trip to Scotland to compete in the Imperial Scottish Championships. Stoke Gifford Taekwon-do were joined by, Paignton TKD & also competitors from Newport, South Wales.

After a very smooth journey the coach arrived at the Premier inn around 5.30pm, and everyone got settled into their rooms. After freshening up Stoke Gifford & Paignton  shared an evening meal together, then retired to their rooms to get some much needed sleep ready for the following days competition.

Sunday 28th March & everyone piled back onto the coach after a good breakfast for a short trip to the competition venue. As the tournament got under way Stoke Gifford started well with the club picking up 8 medals in patterns. The winning streak continued with a further 7 medals in sparring. The day was then nicely finished off by a bronze medal in the special technique. An overall medal tally of 16 medals, 6 x gold, 3 x silver & 7 x bronze.

The group all climbed back onto the coach at 5pm ready for the long trip back to Bristol. With Paignton picking up 15 medals & Newport 8, it meant that the coach came back with a total of an impressive 39 medals. Well done to everyone, please see all that entered from the club below;
