Congratulations to all instructors
for successfully completing the 3 day course.
The first day consisted of First Aid training
overseen by a third party regulatory body, specifically tailored to
injury's and accidents which can occur within the dojang. The second
day was the BTC registered instructor segment,
The BTC (British
TaeKwon-Do Council) recognised by the
Sports Council as the Only Governing body for TaeKwon-Do in the United
Kingdom, has become a registered body with the Criminal Records
Bureau (CRB), an executive agency of the Home Office.
As members of the BTC this enables us
to obtain Enhanced Disclosure for all our instructors. Disclosure is a
document containing information held by the police and government
departments, and contains details from lists held by the Department of
Health and the Department for Education and Skills.
Thus enabling us:
To verify that all
our instructors are suitable for teaching Taekwon-Do in particular
as it involves working with children.
It also ensures that
our instructors a fully aware of the strict BTC guidelines for
Health and Safety, Code of Conduct, Child Abuse and that they have
in place Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance.
The third and final day concluded the
course. This was an intensive practical which included application of
Sine Wave in patterns, fundamental movements and exercises. All
patterns were covered as well as teaching points and tips for
attaining the best results from your students.

Congratulations to Miss Catherine
Divine promoted to 5th Degree and Mr Paul Cain promoted to
4th Degree.
The ITF Senior Degree grading was held on
Friday 23 September. The importance of the occasion was highlighted by
the distinguished grading panel on the day, lead by two 8th
Degree Masters: Master Trevor Nicholls (VIII Dan) and Master Roy
Oldham (VIII Dan) who were assisted by Master Jim Hogan (VII Dan), Mr
Mark Ogborne (VI Dan), Mr Mandeep Rauli (V Dan) and Mr John Archer (V
Dan).
The grading was most definitely a true
test of Catherine's and Paul's resolve, lasting in excess of four
hours. Both were thoroughly examined on their ITF syllabus,
Self-Defence, Sparring, and Breaking. For events such as this, where
the intensity and importance of the occasion was evident to everyone,
including spectators, everyone who participated deserves special
congratulations. For all involved, this one night was the culmination
of four years of training, and in some cases even more.
