GTS (Imperial) Instructors Mr Nicholas and Mr Adam Gardner attended the WAKO British Championships in Nottingham on the 17th-18th February, both Instructors have now been invited to attend the squad training sessions for the selection of the WAKO World Championship Squad going to Belgrade,Serbia in September.

We would like to say that the competition was extremely well run and we found the judges to be fair and in control of what at times was fast and furious stuff.

The first one up was to be Mr Adam Gardner who was looking forward to his first Senior outing in an event, he could not have picked a harder way to begin his introduction into the Senior arena, his fights where tough, his fitness levels carried him to the final which he lost narrowly to a very able opponent, who frankly did look to be slightly fresher as the final round came to an end, which could have been the deciding factor, no complaints exciting match, look forward to meeting again.
Then Mr Nick Gardner stepped into the fray, up against some very good opponents which made the fights exciting and close entertaining stuff, he eventually won though to the final where he won on a split decision and became WAKO British Champion for 2007.

With Nick taking first and Adam taking second in their respective divisions you could imagine how happy and pleased we all are, we also had the pleasure of Master Harry''''s company at the event and later that evening we retired to the bar to discuss important relevant issues, with Master Wolf in attendance we then decided at great length how late should we retire, as we had a new challenge ahead the next day.

Unfortunately Nick was unable to compete in the point scoring section due to some injury''''s he had picked up the day before, although Adam was raring to go and competed, his first fight he won convincingly, however the second he lost to an excellent fighter who was obviously well prepared and used to this format of point scoring, gallant effort Adam now we know what to expect next time, as we really don''''t train for this sort of point scoring.
Lastly we feel that we had a great time away with friends who we don''''t travel with as often as we would like, however if you follow this link
www.wolftkd.com you can find out all you need to know about their successes.

Last but not least, a thank you from everyone to Mr Kevin Guy who over the 2 days displayed an amazing amount of energy helping anybody he could, we fill sure everyone will reiterate this sentiment.
