Master Nicholls Seminar and grading On Sunday 25th November Master Nicholls kindly conducted a seminar in Truro for all belts and ages. The intense few hours were non stop. A very physical and energetic mornings training was to follow. Master Nicholls concentrated on the technical differences and applications of Side-Kick. He explained the unique versions of the same kick, how they could be improved, developed and where each kick would be used. After dividing into small groups with kick shields we practised the different versions to get them right. All belts were amazed at how simple changes to the application of a technique can have such dramatic affects to the way we apply Taekwon-Do. Master Nicholls also went in to detail of the differences between ''smashing'' and ''piercing''. These differences were revised using kicks as examples. The seminar concluded with some words of wisdom. The philosophical meaning to the belt system was talked about which emphasised Taekwon-Do as a martial art. After the seminar Master Nicholls conducted a grading for local students. Congratulations to Lauren Jenkin and Alix Banfield of Newlyn TKD who were successfully promoted to 1st degree.
